Russ check my comments on the BSA Owners Group. i believe you have the one carburettor so still try lifting up the slide when running to see if it stalls at all.

BSA Owners Group: 11 months, 2 weeks ago · ViewI had huge problems with my 66 BSA, i restored the Old Monoblok Carburettors only to have it run on one Cylinder. My problem was solved by buying Two new Concentric. You could start the bike and when idling put your finger in the Carburettor and push the slide up and then the other to see if both are working correctly. one would work really well the other was Struggling.
