it’s a 1952. sent details to Danny but still waiting for it to be included on their data base
Thanks to their fantastic service (honest) I’ve been able to make real progress. But by golly it’s slow.
Primary chaincase ready to go back on ; just need a gasket. PRS8 switch now wired in (according to manual) but not all the colours are as described. (have to use common sense-)problem solved.
waiting for odd nascelle nuts and bolts to arrive and U bolts for original crash bars that will need rechroming
Front wheel off to be rebuilt. sadly beyond redemption. original rechroming hasn’t stood the test of time and has complettely flaked off. so frustrating/disappointing. Stainless is the way forward?
fantastic to get original parts from Burton in original packaging, clean them up and they fit, i love it.
now find other bits and pieces have been welde/repaired over the years , do i replace them or is this part of its character/history?
Where does the coil fit? have i got al the right parts?
where do i fit the new non original rectifier?
it’s an IQ test which i can sometimes do without but it’s great fun
it will never be pristine out of the crate but it will work
PS the last time i got involved with projects like this was 40,years ago when i built a tribsa because i blew up my A10 and then i had access to an engineering workshop and friends helped. now i’m on my own

Need to scan the original photo from N Cyprus but found the original N Cyprus registration document transferring ownership to me dated 1991! bit of a relaxed restoration project. complete new forks fitted; professionally rebuilt engine with new guides and springs, mains and rings; new wiring harness, reupholstered original saddles; rebuilt distributor and speedo all put together -ish priority is [...]

currently restoring an old TRW found under an olive tree in the middle of nowhere, in Northern Cyprus. Found the owner and shipped it to south Wales. Judging by the colour i expect it is an ex RAF militery police model, but have no idea what year it is. it’s got a single coil and alternator. remarkably [...]

      Andy,
you should visit the Burtons Bike Bits website for lots of TRW info,…including sorting out what year your bike is.
